Knee Pain in Teenagers

Does your child have knee pain?

Do they complain of pain while walking, running or jumping? Knee pain in teenagers commonly includes Patello-Femoral Pain Syndrome where the knee cap grinds across the joint and Osgood-Schlatter’s disease, which is a growth plate problem in the lower leg.

Podiatrists regularly treat knee pain. Your foot posture, hip and knee position influences the way you walk and the movement at the knee.

What Happens During a Consultation

At Brindabella Podiatry we will perform a thorough walking and foot posture assessment, look at muscle lengths, joint ranges of motion, footwear and activities/sports. Most importantly we will determine what is causing the knee pain and implement a treatment plan to re-align the knee position to prevent pain and further damage.

We can refer direct for X-Ray, MRI or Ultrasound if further diagnostics are required. You do not need a GP referral to see a podiatrist.

If your child has knee pain, make an appointment with Brindabella Podiatry to help keep your child active and pain free.
