Heel & Arch Pain

Commonly called, plantar fasciitis or heel spur syndrome

Have you been suffering from arch or heel pain? Limping out of bed in the morning? Is your foot just not getting better? At Brindabella Podiatry Canberra, we treat heel and arch pain daily. It is important to have the correct diagnosis for your pain as it may be one of many problems. A weakness in the plantar fascia, a heel spur fracture, bursitis, a nerve impingement, fat pad inflammation or muscle/tendon overuse. It may also be a combination of the above.

Heel pain generally presents with the patient having pain first thing in the morning and after rest. It is important to treat heel pain early rather than letting it ‘run its course’ as people often develop a number of other injuries from altering their gait to avoid the painful heel. Early intervention = quicker recovery.

Heel Pain

What Happens During a Consultation

Our HEEL PAIN PROGRAM will focus on the true cause of your foot pain, that is, the repeat straining which happens with every step you take. We will perform a thorough biomechanical assessment to diagnose your pain and implement a management plan to get you pain-free and back to normal life.

We use different interventions for each patient and the varying diagnoses. These include 3D Custom-Made Orthotics, strapping and plantar fascia socks, DRY NEEDLING, trigger balls, strengthening exercises with a ‘Fasciitis Fighter’ and importantly, footwear. We refer directly for X-Ray, Ultrasound or MRI if further diagnostics are required.

If you or someone you know needs arch pain treatment or heel pain treatment in Canberra. Make an appointment with Brindabella Podiatry for an assessment today.
