Flat Feet in Your Child

Early Intervention is Best

Flat feet can be very problematic for some children. Some have pain, others do not. Sometimes they do not develop problems until later in life. By this time, permanent damage may have occurred. There is great debate in the literature as to what is ‘normal’ so at Brindabella Podiatry we perform a thorough biomechanical assessment to determine whether your child’s foot posture may lead to ongoing problems.

Common problems include growth plate injuries, tendonitis, stress fractures, neuromas, bunions, arch pain, heel pain, osteoarthritis, knee, hip and back problems.

What Happens During a Consultation

At Brindabella Podiatry we will perform a thorough walking and foot posture assessment, look at muscle lengths, joint ranges of motion, footwear and activities/sports. If we believe that intervention will help, we will develop a management plan.

If you suspect that your child has flat feet, abnormally rolls in or runs differently, make an appointment with Brindabella Podiatry to help keep your child active and pain free.
